BI-MOK
For cinematographer Diamond Tat, I created a custom monochrome look prior to the shoot, and through it she visualised the story’s world.
Photography was ALEXA Mini and Panavision Ultra Speed Primes. To keep doors open for a high-quality post-production finish, the digital capture was set to ARRIRAW, and proxies for editorial were rendered each day with the look burned in.
I accompanied each day on set with a live-grade setup, carefully monitoring highlights, shadows and previous shots to aid in a consistent image for a storyline that traverses several times of day and ages of the characters.
